There are so many variables that will affect any decision we make now.

The only thing we can be really sure of is that we must make our decisions now. We must start to plan for the future in ways we never have before, in a global environment we can only dimly see now.

So how do we plan for an AUstralia we cant yet recognise? How do we know what is going to really matter to Australians in 2050?

The very best we can do right now is make intelligent, informed decisions using what we already know, what we have learned from our past mistakes and what matters most to Australians in 2010.

Using quality data and projections it is possible to create scenarios of what might happen and we can use these scenarios to assess risk, to determine outcomes and to help create our future.
